Free vertical SaaS benchmark

Get your benchmark report

12 questions. 4 minutes. Free PDF report with your percentile rank against same-vertical peers across 12 SaaS operating metrics. No credit card, no paywall, and the calculator output is the same the day you run it as it is twelve months from now.

What you get

  • • 6-page PDF anchored to your vertical
  • • p25 / p50 / p75 percentiles per metric
  • • Named-operator anchors with citations
  • • Plain-English recommendations

What we ask for

  • • Your email (so we can send the PDF)
  • • 12 operating numbers (vertical, ARR band, NRR, CAC, etc.)
  • • Optional: opt-in to aggregated research
  • • Zero credit card information

Why we built this. Vertical SaaS operators were running their FY26 plans against blended cross-vertical benchmarks — numbers that look right on paper but miss the structural differences between legal-vertical operators (boring & high-margin), restaurant-vertical operators (low-margin & growth-tied), and the dozen niches in between. The calculator below corrects that by anchoring every percentile to your specific vertical’s public-operator references plus a k-anonymous private cohort (n ≥ 25, see /methodology).

What's your work email?

We send the report here. We never share or sell email lists.

Your numbers are stored encrypted, aggregated daily, and never sold. Read the methodology for the full data discipline.

What happens after you submit

  1. 1. Instant PDF in your browser. The 6-page report renders the moment you complete the calculator. You can also access it later via the unique URL we email.
  2. 2. Email with the same PDF attached. Sent immediately from hello@operator-index.com — if you don’t see it within five minutes, check the spam folder before retrying. We use Resend with full SPF / DKIM / DMARC, so deliverability is usually clean.
  3. 3. (Optional) Affiliate recommendations on the thanks page. Three hand-curated tools matched against the metrics where you fell below the p50 line. Every recommendation carries a visible affiliate disclosure. You’re never required to click anything; the benchmark stands on its own.
  4. 4. (Only if you opted in) Your data joins the next aggregate snapshot. The consent checkbox is unchecked by default. If you tick it, your anonymised inputs feed the next quarterly cohort refresh — only after the cohort crosses 25 consented submissions (k-anonymity). See /data-practices for the full picture.

Common questions

Do I need exact numbers to get a useful report?
Approximate numbers are fine — the calculator is rounding to percentile bands anyway. If you’re uncertain on a specific input (say, gross margin), use a reasonable range estimate. The report flags the metrics where your rank is sensitive to input precision.
Is the calculator usable below $1M ARR?
Yes, but with a caveat: the private-cohort percentiles below $1M ARR are sparser, so the report may roll up your segment to the broader vertical for some metrics. The rolled-up sections are clearly marked.
Can I see what the PDF looks like before I submit?
Yes — /sample-report shows the structure with example numbers.
Will my data be used for anything other than my report?
Only if you explicitly opt in to aggregated research via the consent checkbox — and even then, never as individual rows; only as k-anonymous aggregates. See /data-practices and /privacy for the binding text.
